An Update

I haven’t posted much lately.  I’ve been busy.

Mostly it’s mundane stuff related to having a new baby (almost 4 months old now), and the fact that we’re moving in just under a month.  Lots of packing, sorting through old stuff to see what’s worth packing and what isn’t, that sort of thing.

One of the things I’m most looking forward to in the new house is that I’m going to have my own little corner of the basement with a nice big desk to use as my home office.  Right now, well, my work space isn’t really ideal and I think as a result I haven’t been as motivated as I could have been to spend time at my desk writing code.

I’m a packrat.  Throwing out old stuff is a challenge for me, but moving is a great time to get rid of stuff since you have to pick everything up and move it anyway…

I’ve been slowly getting rid of old computer stuff.  Usually I take a few pictures of it so I can still reminisce when I want to, but really, I’m probably never going to set up my Amiga 3000 again now that we have emulators, so selling it to someone on eBay who actually wants to put it to good use works out well for everyone.

And the cool thing about eBay is I know that if I sell something for $100, if I ever want that thing again, I can probably find another one for about the same price.  It’s like putting the item in storage except that instead of paying to store the item, I get to hang on to it’s cash value until I want it again.

Matthew’s doing very well.  That’s our baby.  I don’t know what milestones are good for a new baby; but he’s rolling over and holding his head up and likes watching the ripped versions of the Baby Einstein videos that I have on the PC so I can stream them to the TV through the XBox 360.  It’s very cool watching him develop.

Anyway, I don’t know that I’ll post much for the next month since the move craziness will just accelerate from here, and I’m sure I’ll have a few days with no Internet during the transition.  See you in the future!
