Bill McCoy: Web Browsers and the Future of eReading

Bill McCoy (an Adobe Blogger) mentions Zinio, a company I'd never heard of. They let you subscribe to traditional magazines and receive PDF versions of those magazines. Cool service.

The Zinio Reader is the first eBook reader that understands that I want to see the pages close-up. When you're reading a magazine with it, you hit PgDn to turn the page and it gives you an overview of the two-page spread you're looking at, and then animates zooming to the top left quadrant of it. Hitting PgDn moves to the bottom-left quadrant, then the top-right quadrant, then the bottom-right quadrant, then animates a page turn. Very nice.
