XBox Controller Keyboard
I need a new MMORPG. It’s been a while since I stopped playing Guild Wars, EverQuest and World of Warcraft, and I want something new.
I had a look at the Vanguard: Saga of Heroes site to see how they’re doing and there’s still not much to see, but I ran across an interesting tidbit in the FAQ:
“Vanguard is one of the chief early adopters of this ever-growing group of software. For example, we will be using technologies from Xbox live, voice communication, and already have the ability to play the game via an Xbox-style controller with a tiny keyboard attached to it (a TID).”
I tried the Final Fantasy demo for the XBox 360 and one of the many ways they’ve found to make using it a truly horrible experience is that they pretty much require you to have a USB keyboard attached to your 360 to play it. A keyboard just isn’t a great input device on a couch.
A tiny keyboard attached to the controller, however, might be okay.
