Google Desktop 2.0
I found a feature I really like in Google Desktop 2.0.
I’m buying a new house, and I’ve been working on a list of features I want to upgrade. I thought I’d received pricing on a particular feature, but I couldn’t find it, so I searched my desktop for it using GDS 2.0.
It showed me that the text I was looking for was contained in an earlier version of the document I was working on. It was actually keeping old versions of the document, and was able to give me the text from the earlier version.
Very cool feature.

“It was actually keeping old versions of the document” – by “It” you probably mean GDS 2.0. I would think it is MS Word who keeps the history of changes. GDS is only able to search and index this history.
Cool feature, nevertheless.

No it’s definitely GDS that’s caching multiple versions. For one single file in the search result it says “13 Cached” and when I click on that, it shows me the 13 versions of the file with the dates.
